"THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT IN COLORADO SKIES"

Entertainment in Colorado From Elvis to Elvira, you never know who you'll run into at Colorado's casinos. Acts will amaze you, dancing will dazzle you and music will move you, when the sizzling stars shine in all three gaming towns. Experience live stage shows complete with impressionists, hypnotists, comedians, country/pop/nostalgic/rock singers and lots more, when stages light up across the Rockies.

The Flamingo Bay Ballroom and Riviera Ballroom stage some of the more elaborate national acts, and entertaining fun events like game shows with audience participation and live boxing also are people pleasers. Acts such as Bobby Vee, the Shangri Las, Mel Tillis, Sha Na Na, Firefall and many more have graced Colorado casino stages and it keeps getting better.

Slot club members often get discount tickets too, so it pays to join and see the stars shine. The Caribbean Cove at the Isle of Capri, where you can catch everything from country to caribbean sounds, and Harveys in Central City often have great local talent performing free of charge.

Harveys' Silver Spur Saloon hosts both local and national acts on weekends. You'll see and hear the best country and country rock groups on the circuit today. Dick Kroekel, Harveys' own piano man, tickles the ivories in the hotel lobby Tuesdays through Sundays. He's a human jukebox and can play most requests.

Entertainers in Black Hawk Variety, and lots of it is the song at Colorado Central Station Casino in Black Hawk, with music accompanying the sound of jackpots on the main gaming floor near the bar. The Double Eagle Hotel and Casino in Cripple Creek hosts exceptional live entertainment on weekends, also on the main gaming floor, plus lots of special events and contests. The Mardi Gras in Black Hawk has featured some unique entertainment with stilt walkers, fortune tellers, magicians and strolling cajun bands moving throughout the casino. Folks have even noticed statues moving. Adult entertainment will soon be featured at the Mardi Gras. The Lodge at Black Hawk features duos, trios and quartets, Thursday through Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, for a variety of musical tastes. The new Hyatt's lounge also promises to bring great headliner entertainment to the Rockies.

Even some of the smaller casinos showcase live entertainment. You can often catch C.C. Collier, a local favorite, and others at Ed & Shirley's Wild Card Saloon on Black Hawk's Main Street.

Head across the street and hear the sound of bagpipes or live entertainment (variety) of Fitzgeralds' main floor stage. Check with the individual casinos for upcoming shows and events.

Elvis Live! Both Central City and Cripple Creek add even more to the entertainment mix with stand-alone entertainment facilities. The old Belvidere Theater, on Central City's Main Street, was recently restored and has been the backdrop for historical and musical presentations, often featuring the Shady Ladies of the Central City Motherlode, a non-profit group that promotes women of the West with original productions and promotional appearances. The old Butte Opera House, on Bennett Avenue (main street) in Cripple Creek, brings original and old time favorite plays to its lush, refurbished stage. The Victorian Society has also staged events at this classy theater. For information call 719-689-6402.
